Ethan Boxer-Macomber, LEED AP
Ethan Boxer-Macomber is principal of Anew Development, a Portland-based real estate development company that he founded in 2013. Anew Development partners with for-profit companies and non-profit organizations to plan and implement high quality, sustainable, and community focused residential, commercial and mixed-use developments in communities across Southern Maine. Ethan pairs his training and experience in the areas of real estate development, urban design, land use planning, and housing and community development with a creative, collaborative, and community-minded approach to achieve highest value project outcomes.
Prior to forming Anew Development, Ethan served as Senior Development Officer and Director of Acquisitions and Assets at Avesta Housing, Northern New England’s largest non-profit affordable housing developer where he led the development and redevelopment of over a dozen large-scale residential projects. Prior to his work in real estate development, Ethan was an Urban Planner for the Cities of Davis, California and Portland, Maine and also served as the City of Portland’s Housing and Community Development Program Manager.
Ethan currently serves on the board of Trustees of Portland Trails and previously served on the Boards of Directors GrowSmart Maine, and the Maine Real Estate & Development Association and the Loan Committee of the Genesis Community Loan Fund. Ethan periodically serves as panelist, guest speaker, or advisor on matters of land use planning and real estate development for various southern Maine municipalities and non-profit organizations.
Ethan earned a BS in Natural Resources and Ecology from the University of Maine, Orono and an MS in Community Planning and Development from the University of California, Davis. He is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Protected Areas Management, Honduras ’96-’98), has been certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), and is a LEED Accredited Professional with the US Green Building Council (LEED AP).
